Weeks = 36, Adventures = 34 | Rappelling and Via Ferrata

So this one may be one of my favorite adventures. And I am not exaggerating.  On Oaks Day aka the first Friday in May aka essentially a holiday in Louisville aka a day of horse racing leading up to the Kentucky Derby,  when the rest of Louisville was celebrating, I took myself to the Red River Gorge for a day of adventuring.  I had signed up with South East Mountain Guides to try rappelling and their Via Ferrata course and it was an amazing day!

Miscellaneous

Weeks = 32, Adventures = 31 | Fancy Pants Manicure

So, I have horrible nails.  Mainly because I have a really bad habit of picking at my cuticles.  And because I pick at my cuticles and cut them (I know I am not supposed to, but I do) the grow insanely fast and exacerbate the issue.  My nail situation is further worsened by the fact that i cant quite seem to keep polish on my nails and as soon as it starts to chip, I can quite seem to keep it from picking off.  So needless to say, my nails usually do not look that great.

DIY

Weeks = 32, Adventures = 30 | Deck Repairs

As I have mentioned before, I am not the handiest person around.  And while I am not mechanically inclined, I am willing to help, am good at following directions and am pretty good and breaking things; all of which came in handy on my next adventure. I am not sure if I have shared this before, but family is really into the lake, and for those of you that know me, this is not a surprise - at all.  We spend as many weekends as possible at the lake and on the water.  For as long as I can remember, for me, summer = the lake.  And for as many weekends as possible.

Food

Weeks = 31, Adventures = 29 | 18 Layer Cake

For about a year now, I have been wanting to try a recipe I saw on Southern Living's website for an 18-layer cake.  18 layers of homemade goodness in the form of yellow cake, but layered with plenty of delectable chocolate icing.  But the kick is, there aren't too many occasions for making an 18-layer cake - it's a lot of work and you need to be feeding a lot of people who really like sweets,  Finally, this Easter, presented the perfect opportunity with most of the folks from my mom's side of the family gathering to celebrate.
