Hey There and Welcome!

Hi There and welcome to my slice of the blog-sphere.  I am glad you decided to check out my site. 🙂

This is my first ever blog post and hopefully it wont be my last!  I am not a writer.  Never imagined that I would be a writer.  Recently I celebrated my birthday.  It was a great day, filled with love and support from family and friends, and I am extremely blessed.

But, I am not where I expected to be as a 30-something year-old woman.  I am as single as single gets, I have never been married and I do not have any children.  I am not even dating anyone seriously.  I am as about as independent as independent gets.  While, I don’t know how long I will be in this current life state, I want to be sure that I am taking full advantage of it while it lasts. I want to be trying new things, meeting new people, and broadening my horizons.

In order to do live life as a single 30-something as much as possible, I am committing my-self to do something new every week this year.  This blog is a way to ensure that I follow through with my resolution (far too often, I am more talk than action).  I will be sharing my adventures and the success/failure of each over the course of the year.

Over the years, my friends and family have been trying to convince me to write a blog or book detailing my dating fiasco stories (and man do I have some good ones!).  But, I decided that I wanted write a blog about my life as an adventurous, curious, and independent woman vs a woman lamenting the state of modern dating.  Don’t get me wrong, I have done and I am sure I will do my share of bemoaning the current state of dating, but not on here –  I am striving to dwell less on what I do not have, and more on what I do have.  And what I do have, is the time and freedom to try new things and expand my comfort zone.

Please check back in a few days to hear about my first adventure and to help me ensure that I actually write another post and this isn’t a once and done endeavor!
